Dana is a freelance designer who started dSy Designs in 2011. Initially starting with friends’ weddings and then friends of friends, Dana’s business flourished. In this piece, she collaborated with a couple on their aeronautic-themed wedding to create a program that took flight - literally.
“We first created their wedding invitation. It looked like an airplane ticket and a vintage look. That look started our look with this whole airplane theme. Then we were talking about the program and wouldn’t it be cool to do a paper airplane type of program. And I stopped and I said, yes, we need to do that. I love that idea - we’re going to make it happen.”
Using Felt Weave - Natural 80# Cover stock to match the invitations for the couple, Dana says, “I wanted to give it more of that vintage look, and for some reason the feltweave paper screams vintage or rustic to me. When someone says rustic or vintage, I’m like this is just the paper you want to use, it has a great feel to it.”
Dana chose Smartpress for this project because it started with the invitation. “Just the ease of you guys doing the perforation on the side for their invitation, I knew it would be exactly what I thought it was going to be. So when that came back so well, I knew I had to send this one back to you too for consistency, and just quality, making sure that everything looks exactly how we envisioned it… there would be no question marks.”
